We went to Barnes and Noble on Thursday evening and Evan (10) was allowed to bring $15 of his money to spend. He tried really hard to convince me he needed a $30 book on dinosaurs, but I would spring for the other half, because he has about 10 books on them already (at least) and they all look the same to me. So, finally, he found a book with the title, Owl Puke. Along with the book came a tray with several labled compartments and a small box containing a genuine, heat sanitized, guaranteed to contain at least one skeleton, owl pellet for dissection. Last night before work, I got to help him with that. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done this for fun when I was 10! I'm pretty sure I would have bought comic books with that money.
I'm pretty sure I'll spring for the dinosaur book next time.
