Brief yard update - The Rancho Commons — LiveJournal
Note to self: no whining, no slacking
Brief yard update
Very brief. Pictures will follow at a later time, though not as many as before.

It's dark. We are DOG tired. I return to work tomorrow night. We accomplished our goal; that being, to completely clear all the overgrowth from the back yard except the trees along the right side of the house, to haul it all to the front yard, and to remove the shrubs from in front of the house. We are DONE.

The boys helped us immensely the last two days, though they weren't very happy about it most of the time. But, we are all so proud of how much we accomplished and how good the yard is going to look when we finish the rest of the work already looks!

We've also enjoyed the feeling of working our bodies this hard, and feeling tired for a good reason. What we have enjoyed the most, I think, is planning for and dreaming about the "new" back yard we now have.

Pictures soon. Like, some before and afters.

That's great and your hard work will pay off well. This is what family memories are made of. :)))

Somehow, I'm doubting my sons would agree with you. I hope their memories don't consist of being threatened every two minutes with punishments or loss of rewards if they DON'T PICK UP THOSE LIMBS AND PUT THEM ON THE PILE!!!

Okay, so at nearly 6 and 10 they aren't very focused on tasks, but they were still a big help to us. And I know it is good for them to be given responsibilities, so it was a win-win.
