This one is a particularly sensitive and emotional battle that we've dealt with with each of my step-children. My husband has a hard time with taking it as a personal failing that his children have ADHD and learning disabilities. I hope your son is going to a good school where he will get the attention he needs and deserves. It can be very frustrating for kids with ADHD because they know when something is too hard for them, unlike kids who (for lack of a better word) retarded and are completely oblivious to their own limitations. It's always a good idea to try to bolster his ego and let him do a lot of the things he's good at in his free time as a reward for taking on challenges. Good luck!
