Well Bruce, sometimes I think it is just better to acknowledge that I've read something thought-provoking than to make a comment when I don't quite know what to say. The first entry I ever read of yours was a post of this type, and I was struck with the way in which you expressed yourself.

Saying I "like" these kinds of entries doesn't seem right somehow :)
(But I do.)

I hope you didn't misunderstand. I genuinely appreciate your comment and I understand the nature in which it was intended.

When I first started this journal, I soon realized that the more serious the subject matter, the fewer the comments. It bothered me at first until I realized that posts like these are very difficult to respond to. Like you said, "I enjoyed/liked this" just doesn't feel quite right (when I'm responding to similar entries in other journals).

However, since I also decided early on that I wasn't working toward a "popular" journal with lots of friends, I continue to post the hard stuff when I feel the need. Like I said, if anyone else can relate to it at all, that's gravy.

Thanks for reading!

I didn't misunderstand at all :)
Beautiful writing, no matter how tough the subject is, always appeals.
