Been down a bit, but not out.

Yeah, I've been on a bit of a downward slide of late, but I'm fighting it.

Missed a lot of commentary in the world over the last couple of weeks. I offer a synopsis of my opinion(s).

Whether or not you liked, loved, or hated Charlton Heston's activism/religious beliefs/acting, etc., it says way more about you than it does him when you write that you are "glad" or "happy" that he's dead.

Naomi Campbell got booted off a British Airways flight for pitching a hissy fit about her luggage being lost. THEN, she got arrested because she spit in the face of one of the policemen that came to escort her off the plane. Now she's facing felony assault charges. All of this proves that you can have beauty, fame, money, and all of the other trappings of what the world calls "success" and still retain the character of a moist turd.

I watched a guy pull up in a nice looking Ford Expedition (Larger SUV than the Explorer!), stop at several houses along my street with the engine idling, and rummage through their recycling bins, presumably looking for aluminum cans? I wonder why he doesn't see the futility of that?

I'm a big believer and supporter of religious freedom, so things like the raid on that compound in Texas make me nervous (visions of Ruby Ridge and Waco). However, that said, I'm an even bigger supporter and advocate for the protection of innocent children. A compound chock full of young girls, many married to much older men who have numerous wives... Raid on, Big Brother!

I've been SO happy since we got rid of the '91 Explorer and bought the new Civic, thus relegating me to the Honda Pilot! I've never been so happy with the vehicles that I've owned as I am now. Yeah, TWO car payments sucks, but we will most likely have both of these vehicles for YEARS after we pay for them, so it's a win.

Short but sweet, I'll be back. Honestly, I've been on the 'Net way less than usual, so I've been unable to keep up. I miss spending 4 or 5 hours a day sitting here reading, but it's really a better thing that I'm not. Have you heard? I'm attempting my first garden this year! It's not quite up and running yet, but it's close. I'm scared that it will be so labor intensive that I'll bail out on it, but I don't think that will be the case. It's only a 4'x7' plot, which sounds mighty small till you read this. Worst case, the birds won't eat EVERYthing and we'll still get some good veggies out of the deal. Best case? We save more money than if we went with Geico, and it'll be caveman easy (sorry).
