I only thought I was missing out on the worse part of the sinus drainage/chest congestion crapola that Allie got. Today she went to the doctor for a scheduled appointment and came home with a bunch of sinus drugs and some antibiotics, for BOTH of us. My head is trying to split this morning and I think my left eye may well pop out before the day is over. I called in/out/off (everyone says it differently) last night because I was scheduled at the "other hospital." The next two nights I am scheduled at my real job, and I'm considering the best option right now.
I know I can get rid of the headache, and the cough and head congestion isn't so bad once I'm up and around, and medicated. It is the overwhelming dragginess and feeling of utter fatigue that I fear trying to endure while taking care of two potentially very sick patients. It affects one's mental acuity which is a
bad thing when you are titrating drips and administering sedatives, etc. Still, I hate to be out when I don't really "feel" sick, except for being able to sleep almost constantly.
Oh, and there's this headache that makes me want to pack my head in ice. My eyes are watering from the pressure. Must... resist... whining....
